TEC INFORMATION

TEC weekends are normally held at the Villa Maria Spiritual Life Center on beautiful Lake Springfield.  Weekends begin on Saturday morning with registration from 9:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.  and end at about 4:00 p.m. on Monday.  See PICTURES PAGE.

Any person who is at least 16 years of age and has completed their sophomore year in high scholl is invited to a TEC weekend.  Adults may attend TEC also.

The cost of a TEC weekend is $90 per individual, $10, non-refundable deposit is due when the application is sent in.  Those who wish to attend a TEC weekend must submit an application.

A confirmation letter will be sent to each applicant.  The letter will include directions to the TEC site and instructions on what and what not to bring to the weekend.

TEC weekends are conducted by a team of youth and adults trained in the TEC experience.  Each weekend has a priest as Spiritual Director.  TEC is a Catholic event but all denominations are invited. TEC is conducted in a safe, comfortable environment as directed by the Diocese of Springfield.

If you need applications you may go to our APPLICATIONS PAGE.  You may also request applications or information by writing to TEC of Springfield, PO Box 586, Springfield, IL, 62705-0586.  Our Applications Director can be contacted via e-mail (MJOFIL@aol.com) or by phone (217-546-4234).

Teens Encounter Christ (TEC) is a celebration of the Paschal Mystery of Jesus Christ.  The celebration takes place in a setting which is informal, safe and comfortable for youth.  Activities, discussions, music, sharing, food, fun, fellowship, recreation and worship are all part of the TEC experience, all designed to enhance the faith life of young Christians.  Every effort is made to allow the participants to have this experience at their own level and pace.

Thousands of youth and adults have attended and participated in TEC in the Springfield Diocese since 1975. We extend the invitation, also, to those who have experienced TEC to come and be part of the experience as team members.
If you've made a TEC weekend, are not currently receiving the TEC newsletter and would like to receive it e-mail us your name and address.  If you would like to receive our electronic newsletter include your e-mail address.
